Agricultural higher education institutions should become a center for promotion of information on the latest achievements
At the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine on 24 January a meeting-seminar for the Directors of Educational and Scientific Complex Institute, Deans of Faculties and leading scientists of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine was held, in which Taras Vysotskyi, General Director of the Association ‘Ukrainian Agribusiness Club’, took part.
General Director of the UCAB announced expectations of agribusiness from the agricultural education to the scientific community. In particular, he expressed the view that higher education institution may become a center for promotion of information on the latest achievements of science, discoveries and developments for agricultural sector.
‘Modern world is rapidly developing. The agricultural sector is very dynamic, therefore, to provide educational services for young workers and experts is quite much-needed thing. Today, the employee should be guided by the principle of lifelong learning, leading to continuous educating throughout the life. Agricultural companies need knowledge. They obtain it in different ways: through technology providers, dealers, foreign experts. Although, agricultural universities are in position to provide such services. Agribusiness has its specifics, there is free time between seasons which can be used efficiently, for example, to learn. Hence, the agricultural universities should integrate training centers on their basis which could satisfy business needs in knowledge about the latest technologies’, noted Taras Vysotskyi.
